iMed Medical was founded in 2015 by Zübeyde Akdas. We are a medical tourism agency specialising in coordinating plastic surgery and aesthetic journeys — a trusted bridge between patients abroad and health providers in Istanbul, Turkey.
iMed Medical is a licensed health tourism agency authorised by the Turkish Ministry of Health (Reg. AK-0135). We work with board-certified partner surgeons — including EBOPRAS-certified specialists — and A-plus partner hospitals, and we guide you from your first consultation all the way through your recovery.
Istanbul has become one of the world’s leading destinations for health tourism, known for experienced surgeons and modern hospitals. Our role is to make that journey clear and supported: we listen, we explain your options honestly, and our caring, confidential team stays with you at every step.
Why I started iMed
People often ask me about my personal story — why I started this company. The honest answer is that, as a child, I didn’t fit the mould others expected, and I know first-hand how much that can affect the way you feel about yourself. That experience never left me.
Years later, when I went through procedures myself — living in the Netherlands but having my surgery in Turkey — I felt how much was missing in the experience. Not the medical side, but the understanding. When I moved to Turkey, medical tourism was growing fast, yet hardly anyone truly understood what an international patient actually feels and needs.
Born and raised in Holland and now living in Istanbul, I sit on both sides. I know what you expect coming from Europe, and I know how things work here in Turkey. I started iMed so that no one has to feel lost or alone in that journey — and so that everyone can feel confident and comfortable in their own skin.

We provide coordination, accommodation, translation and transfer services. All medical services are delivered solely by our contracted, licensed healthcare facilities and physicians holding international health tourism authorisation.
